Subjects of Equanimity
摘要
The above epigraphs signal my critical direction in the next two chapters, that is, toward considering links between equanimity, as a mobile attitude toward the world, and the formation of subjectivity. Because equanimity as a way of cognition is untethered to fixed notions, it has the potential to frame identities whose freedom can be figured in multiple ways. This chapter, along with the next, considers then the different subject positions that may emerge under forms of awareness that value flexibility, interrelatedness, and spontaneity. It reflects upon who we are when we inhabit the world equanimously.
