The Cycles Agroecosystem Model
摘要
Cycles is a biophysically-based, multi-year, and multi-species agroecosystem modeling system (Kemanian et al., 2024). It has a structure that favors a generalized representation of elements and fluxes in the soil–plant– atmosphere continuum over taxonomic soil- and plant-specific nuances, as well as management interventions like tillage, fertilization, and irrigation. The structure is modular, so its components or the whole can be treated as objects. These objects can be instantiated to enable further development of physically distributed models like Cycles-L (Shi et al., 2023) or enable data assimilation at run-time in data-model workflows that require a flexible soft-coupling of modules (Gil et al., 2021).
