The consumption of poultry meat and eggs continues to rise steadily, driven by population growth, changing dietary habits and increased consumer awareness of its nutritional benefits. In addition to its significance in food security, poultry farming plays a significant role in rural development, particularly in developing countries, offering opportunities to millions of smallholder farmers. The economic contributions of the poultry industry are substantial, with billions of dollars invested annually across the various stages in the supply chain, from production to processing, distribution and retail.
