Weed management in Conservation Agriculture-based production of annual crops
摘要
Defining, regenerating and maintaining healthy soils is seen as key to sustainable agricultural production (Reicosky et al., 2023). This principle underlies integrated management systems such as Conservation Agriculture (CA) which combine a range of techniques (minimal mechanical disturbance to the soil, permanent vegetation cover, and diversified crop rotations or other plant associations) to create a more sustainable agroecosystem (Derpsch et al., 2024). In developing this integrated management system, one of the biggest challenges remains management of undesirable plants (traditionally labelled ‘weeds’) which threaten to unbalance the system.
