How can organic dairy farming address and improve biodiversity and healthy ecosystems?
摘要
Biodiversity, short for ‘biological diversity’, refers to the variability to be found within living organisms and encompasses different scales: the diversity within species (their genetic diversity), between species (often measured as species richness) and ecosystems. The variability of life in any one geographical area is critical for the healthy state and functioning of its ecosystems. In this chapter, we explore the impact of farming, especially dairy production, on biodiversity and how organic approaches can improve biodiversity and ecosystem health.
