This chapter considers several specific diseases that afflict women. We discuss the politics and policies surrounding diseases that are specific to women such as gynecological cancers, and those that disproportionately affect women such as breast cancer, Altzeimers and heart disease and the success of groups and the social movements that have highlighted these ailments.
