Operational Resilience and Disaster Recovery
摘要
Monitoring answers, “Is something wrong?” by watching a small, predefined set of signals and alerting when thresholds or SLOs are breached. Observability answers, “Why is it wrong (and who/where is affected)?” by correlating logs, metrics, and traces with the right dimensions (Region/AZ, customer segment, deployment version, path). Resilient operations require both monitoring to minimize mean time to detect (MTTD) and observability to minimize mean time to recover (MTTR), and together they provide measurable evidence that the system stays within RTO/RPO under stress.
