Windows Legacy Print
摘要
The art of printing on paper what is written or drawn on the screen is truly a complex endeavor. Almost every IT technician or administrator comes to dread the request from a user to fix printout issues. Maybe that is because for the most part, the references available to understand or fix client/server print are few and far between. This book is an attempt to remedy the dearth of print system knowledge or at least cast some light on this (unpopular) subject. For the purposes of this book, I will concentrate on the Windows print system as it is by far the most popular OS in existence today. However, many of the concepts discussed here either started with or are incorporated into other systems in existence today (LPR/IPP/spooling), so a greater understanding of them should be beneficial to understanding printing on all operating systems.
