This section explores the crucial role that urban and landscape context plays in the reconstruction of historical buildings using HBIM. While much attention is often placed on the architectural detail and structural accuracy of individual buildings, it is equally important to recognize that these buildings did not exist in isolation. They were embedded within dynamic and evolving urban environments, shaped by natural landscapes, social infrastructure, and cultural practices. To achieve meaningful and immersive reconstructions, HBIM must therefore extend beyond the building envelope to incorporate the broader spatial and societal frameworks in which these structures once operated.
