Entity-Relationship (ER) modeling has long been a foundational approach to structuring and organizing data, clearly representing entities, their attributes, and the relationships between them. This methodology has been essential in designing relational databases, ensuring data integrity, and facilitating efficient querying. However, as data ecosystems have grown in complexity, traditional ER models have had to evolve to accommodate new requirements such as hierarchical relationships, temporal data, and integrations with modern architectures like data lakes and data warehouses.
