These devices, from smartphones and tablets to wearables, store tremendous amounts of sensitive information, such as text messages, emails, multimedia data, location histories, app logs, and encrypted credentials. As such, mobile forensics (i.e., the science of recovering, analyzing, and interpreting digital evidence from mobile devices), has become a key discipline in law enforcement, corporate investigations, and national security.
