It’s time for a little more time travel. My muse (and my nightmare of reverse identity theft), John Titor, helps take us back to the dawn of the new millennium. Consider a wide-eyed technology enthusiast excitedly ushering in the year 2000, absolutely certain that “Y2K” would wreak a catastrophic shutdown of computers across the world. Some heralded that this event would cause planes to fall from the sky, electrical power would cease to exist, and ATMs would spit free money at the first sign of trouble. But when the clock struck midnight, only a few notable events occurred, like glitches in payroll systems printing the wrong date on checks and some personal computer software that was incapable of correctly calculating future dates.
