Many projects in the previous chapters were created in a freehand style, using your imagination, in a new document on a blank canvas. Then, in other projects, you imported and opened images, and this was a better solution when you needed to accurately trace or paint over a sketch or enhance your artwork. However, in your own project, you may have started to work on the canvas and realized that now you want to include an image for the purpose of tracing or transforming as part of the current artwork.
