One aspect of an in-person work environment that people miss when working on a remote team is the connections they build with their co-workers. Outside of friends and family, our co-workers are the people we spend the most time with. It’s no wonder people often form friendships or lifelong work relationships with these people. These connections are built slowly through little interactions throughout the workday. This face-to-face time allows us to get to know them better, whether it’s impromptu meetings at the breakroom coffee station or group lunches.
