The primary goals of this chapter are to shed further information on and delve further into the Broadcom VMware transformations. This chapter's opening portion will cover VMware's previous licensing schemes and contrast them with the most recent modifications made to the company's product offerings by Broadcom, specifically the addition of subscription-based solutions and core-based computations. We'll also go into detail about the various bundles that are on sale and compare them all, along with the corresponding "add-ons" that go along with each bundle. We will provide some of the cost figures for the various bundles that are offered later in the chapter, based on the various customer blogs and experiences. Lastly, we will bring to light some of the negotiation tactics that allow customers to be equipped and ready when they want to go into the negotiations with VMware and can take informed choices.
