A Systematic Review on the Information Literacy Research of Asian Countries: A Computational Study

In the present information age information literacy is a necessary ability that will help to empower individuals in every share of their life, the ability is about to recognize the need of information, find, evaluate, use, and acknowledging the information independently available in all formats. The present study systematically reviewed and analyzed the scientific productivities of information literacy within the time span from 2013–2022 to know the research growth and future trends of the Asian countries. The findings revealed that researches on information literacies are growing with time, China is the most productive country, Muhammad Asif Naveed from Pakistan is the prolific author, the Journal Library Philosophy and Practice found to be the prolific journal, University of the Punjab, Lahore is the prolific affiliation, and there is a good level of collaboration among the authors from Asian countries. For research trend “information literacy,” “digital literacy,” “media literacy” are highly occurred keywords and keywords like “teachers,” “covid-19,” “online learning,” “pandemic” signified as newly researched emerging trends with context to information literacy.
