Diaspora communities play a crucial role in shaping the cultural, political, and economic landscapes of both their home and host countries. This study examines how diasporas act as cultural ambassadors, fostering cross-cultural exchange while preserving their heritage with a particular focus on the East Asian diasporas. The contributions of East Asian diasporas extend beyond financial remittances, influencing identity formation, soft power dynamics, governance, and transnational engagement. The study tries to explore East Asian diaspora communities’ political and diplomatic influence, highlighting their role in advocacy, governance, and international relations and how these affect the security issues of the host country. The study first analyzes the early migration trends and contemporary rise of the East Asian diasporas. Later, the study dives deep into diasporas’ contributions to knowledge exchange, innovation, and humanitarian efforts, demonstrating their impact on economic development and crisis response. The study then attempts to create a linkage between their contributions and security issues of the host countries through specific case studies. By analyzing these aspects, this study underscores the strategic significance of East Asian diaspora communities as active agents of change rather than passive expatriates.
