Developing countries are undergoing with dramatic demographic changes in the recent decades. Growing proportion of the elderly in total population carries many challenges for healthy life and well-being. Food insufficiency is one of them, which is associated with numerous injurious health outcomes among older adults. The chapter examines the association between the amount of social assistance and food insecurity (moderate and severe) among the elderly in India. The outcome of study suggests for providing an adequate level of social assistance to the elderly people by taking new initiatives in food supply programmes that secure food sufficiency to improve wellbeing of the elderly people.
