Enhancement of Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Energy Storage Systems: Utilization in a Cavity Including an Adiabatic Obstacle
摘要
This work aims to numerically study natural convection in a square cavity. The enclosure equipped an adiabatic triangle-shaped obstacle. The finite volume method is used to solve the Navier–Stokes and energy equations. A parametric study is carried out by considering the Rayleigh number Ra, from 103 to 106, and the aspect ratio of an adiabatic obstacle (AR = 0, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4). The results of Nusselt number and profiles of isotherms are presented. It appears from this study that the heat transfer increase with the rise of aspect ratio of adiabatic obstacle and the increase of Rayleigh number. Results vary depending on parameters such as Rayleigh number, obstacle aspect ratio, shape of the obstacle, etc. A comparison of our results. With those obtained by Barakos and Mitsoulis revealed excellent agreement.
