In this paper, assessment of wind load is carried out using IS 875 (Part3): 2015 and Tokyo Polytechnic University (TPU) Aerodynamic Database. Procedure for evaluation of static and dynamic wind load in along and across directions using both the approaches is presented in this paper. The buildings with aspect ratio of 1:1 with slenderness ratio of 3 and 4 are considered for the study. Wind speed of 50 m/s and terrain category III as per IS 875 (Part 3): 2015 are considered for evaluating wind loads and comparison with the results of TPU database for the particular type of building. The comparative study of results in terms of static and dynamic wind loading shows that TPU database gives higher forces as compared to IS 875 (Part3) for all category of buildings considered in this study. The outcome of present study will be useful to estimate wind loads on high-rise buildings in alternate of wind tunnel testing.
