The integration of offshore wind farms (OWFs) into the power grid using voltage source converter-based high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) technology is a pivotal step toward sustainable energy generation and has gained significant attention due to its potential to enhance renewable energy utilization. Ensuring the reliability of VSC-HVDC-connected OWF clusters is paramount for grid stability and uninterrupted power supply. This work provides a comprehensive review that delves into the multifaceted aspects of reliability in VSC-HVDC-connected OWF clusters. This paper aims to analyze and synthesize the existing literature on the reliability aspects of VSC-HVDC-connected OWF clusters, providing a holistic understanding of the challenges, methodologies, and advancements in this domain.
