An ecological balance exists among the physical, chemical, and biological components of the environment, which sustains ecological integrity, supports rich biodiversity, and ultimately provides numerous ecosystem services to humanity. Anthropogenic pressure is recognized as the primary factor that disrupts this equilibrium, resulting in environmental degradation and threatening biodiversity. The present study offers a concise overview of the major environmental degradations and their impacts. It also aims to identify the primary threats to biodiversity associated with degradation and how economic development poses a threat to biodiversity and suggests mitigation measures to combat the impacts.

摘要
