Human-Wildlife Conflict and Animal Behavior
摘要
In the natural world, human relationships with wildlife are complicated. Their mutual need for one another for resources, food chains, land, and habitat has led to conflict. This has been going on ever since humans started to destroy forest areas for houses, agricultural practices, and the poaching and shooting of animals for food, firewood, pastures for cattle, and other necessities. Humans’ constant encroachment on wildlife and forest areas has bad negative effects on the economy such as health, biodiversity, wild species extinction, and soil erosion from excessive deforestation. It is vital that specific rules and regulations must be adopted in order to address these consequences. This chapter intends to explore the conflicts that arise between humans and between humans and wildlife, as well as the outcomes of these conflicts. Moreover, the behavioral responses of animals and mitigation of these conflicts have been discussed in detail.
