Policy and Regulatory Framework for Clean Energy
摘要
This chapter explores the complex policy and regulatory frameworks that influence the adoption of clean energy, particularly in light of international accords and Indian government initiatives. It examines the need to match global commitments, such as the Paris Agreement, with domestic initiatives to help the transition to sustainable energy sources. By examining India’s ambitious targets outlined in initiatives such as the National Solar Mission and Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy, as well as regulatory mechanisms such as Renewable Purchase Obligations, this chapter emphasizes the multifaceted approach required to overcome barriers to clean and affordable energy deployment. It also investigates the effect of incentives, such as fiscal measures and market mandates, in encouraging investment and creating a favorable condition for renewable energy development. Finally, the chapter highlights the important need for coherent policies, regulatory consistency, and new incentives to accelerate the transition to a cleaner, affordable, and more sustainable energy sector in India and elsewhere.
