In the face of the rapidly changing and globally acclaimed achievements in the transportation development of our motherland, the author is filled with excitement and profound emotions. Summarizing the achievements of transportation development from the perspective of intelligence and looking forward to the future is the core theme of this chapter. To systematically and concisely introduce the development process of intelligent transportation, the chapter will first outline the current situation, followed by the development history and major advancements of intelligent transportation, then introduce the construction goals of “Transportation Power” and the main characteristics of the path to a transportation powerhouse with Chinese characteristics, and finally, provide insights into the future development of both human and material flows.
