The emerging of composite material repair technologies came with the wildly use of composites. Different repair methods were used with different damage structures and damage performance. Patch bonder repair is one of the most important composite material repair methods, which was easily operated and repaired fast. In this work the honeycomb sandwich made of T300/QY8911 prepreg and NH-1-1-83-80 aramid honeycomb was studied. The influence of patch diameter and patch ply on the bending strength recover of patch bonder repaired composites with a honeycomb sandwich structure. The optimum technical parameters of patch diameter with 50 mm and patch ply with 5 were found by experiments, while the bending strength recover value was the highest of 110.14%. Furthermore, a simulation model for Patch bonder repaired honeycomb sandwich structure was established through finite element analysis. The maximum error between the simulation results and the test results was 4.632%. After optimized by Kriging model, the error between the predicted and test results was 1.25%. The developed model was suitable for parameters optimization and prediction of patch bonder repaired honeycomb sandwich structure.
