The Aviation Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) stands as a pivotal technological in achieving safety and reliable communication across airport surfaces. Its significance is paramount in elevating the operational efficiency of airports and guaranteeing aviation safety. Recognizing the challenges posed by the diminishing WiMAX industry chain in the context of traditional AeroMACS, this paper introduces a novel AeroMACS system architecture that is underpinned by 5G communication technology. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis is conducted to elucidate the inherent advantages and application requirements of integrating 5G with AeroMACS. Concluding the paper, a detailed examination is presented on the potential obstacles and corresponding solutions in the implementation of 5G-enabled AeroMACS technology.
