Use of Imaging in Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine
摘要
Over the last two decades there has been an increased utilization of surgical procedures for augmentation, rejuvenation as part of aesthetic surgery, as well as reconstruction of tissue defects following ablative surgery after trauma, cancer, or other chronic illnesses. It is becoming increasingly important to evaluate these patients preoperatively for surgical planning as well as postoperatively for complications. There are numerous imaging modalities available. It is important to use the appropriate imaging modality, to answer the specific clinical question. Sonography with color Doppler is useful at the bedside to detect local complications such as hematoma, seroma, infection, and also the more sinister complication of deep vein thrombosis.
