In 2013, I was first introduced to plasma technology as my Italian friend, Dr. Francesco Irace, told me about Dr. Giogio Fippi who created a new noninvasive device able to create a plasma generation inside this machine. He performed in my office under local anesthesia a nonsurgical removal of dark spots in the hands of one of my patients. I found this technique presented by him very innovative at that time and the result was very nice. After four years, plasma device got approval for medical use in Brazil and I started using it in 2017. Plasma action can be configured to regenerate the skin improving its texture, reducing its flaccidity, or destroying the proper layers of benign dermatologic lesions (Fig. 22.1). Plasma procedure is office based and should be carried under local anesthesia.
