Although deep learning-based point cloud technologies have achieved significant progress during the past decade, lots of further investigations are still needed due to opportunities given by recent remarkable advances in deep learning and artificial intelligence. In this chapter, we discuss future works in the relevant research fields, including point cloud enhancement, point cloud analysis, pre-trained model and large model, generative model, multi-modal large model and embodied intelligence, open-source project for point cloud technologies, and point cloud engineering applications.
