This Chapter describes acoustic issues related to the development of sustainable building practice. These include the use of natural ventilation, which can allow increased intrusive noise, natural lighting which can limit opportunities to provide acoustic absorption and lack of background sound from mechanical services which can make some spaces less comfortable. Potential tools and measures to deal with these issues are described.
