Requirement elicitation is the first stage of the software development process. No elicitation approach for gathering requirements has the strength of finding or eliciting all software system needs or requirements. For this, we need to utilize different approaches that the requirement engineers and analysts need to use for the collection of all the necessary requirements of the system. This will result in developing a more convenient and effective software requirement elicitation process and activities. All approaches have their own good features and those make them different from other approaches and make them convenient for a specific condition. An important aspect is to utilize the most suitable approach among all others. Before using any of these approaches, the requirement engineer or analyst must have a thorough understanding of the approach. The chapter’s objective is to present a review of some requirement elicitation approaches, and we have also discussed a case study of developing a chat application by collecting requirements by using different approaches and validating them with quality attributes of good requirements.

摘要
