Analytical Discussion and Applications of Concurrency, Deadlock, and Starvation in Computational Intelligence: An Operating Systems Perspective
摘要
This paper aims to explain the issues of concurrency, deadlock, and starvation in computing systems and real-life applications. A literature search, analysis, and discussion approach were adopted. Overall, 34 relevant works including journal articles, books, and sources from databases, and websites were perused. The paper presents clear explanations of the concepts and their applications in relation to resource allocation and planning systems. Furthermore, appropriate solutions to peculiar problems of shared resources using scheduling algorithms are explained with examples. The dining philosophers’ problem, a classic case of deadlock and starvation is explained with appropriate solution and current applications in concurrent programming.
