Designing the Future: Unveiling New Learning Frameworks in Design Education
摘要
This study addresses the pressing challenges and opportunities in the ever- changing landscape of design education. Introduction: The primary objective of this study is to shape the future of design education by answering critical research questions and preparing students for the rapidly evolving design industry while respecting diverse social contexts, cultural affiliations, and technological advances. Theoretical Framework: This study is grounded in a solid theoretical foundation that emphasizes the urgency of transforming design education. It draws on educational theories that stress adaptability, creativity, and lifelong learning, as well as the concepts of interdisciplinarity and cultural inclusivity, to promote holistic growth among design students. Data Analysis: A mixed-methods approach was employed to gather data, including literature reviews, which offered insights into the current state of design education, and case studies, which provided practical examples of innovative pedagogical practices. Collaborative workshops with design educators and practitioners enriched this research by incorporating real-world perspectives. Findings: The study revealed that new learning frameworks must incorporate project-based, interdisciplinary, and culturally inclusive approaches to foster creativity and adaptability among design students. By integrating emerging technologies and industries, design educators can prepare students for the future. The study also underscores the necessity of transitioning from a one-size-fits-all model of design education to a personalized, adaptable, and lifelong learning approach. In conclusion, “Designing the Future: Unveiling New Learning Frameworks in Design Education” addresses the critical challenges in design education, focusing on its adaptability to an ever-changing world.
