Driver Alertness Monitoring Through Eye Blinking Patterns

Driving while intoxicated is a serious risk to public safety since it can impair judgment and cause delayed reactions, which can result in accidents. We suggest a unique strategy that combines strain analysis with eye blinking patterns to assess driver alertness and reduce this danger. Our approach uses a webcam in front of the car to identify blinks in the driver’s eyes in real-time. We are able to determine the degree of tiredness in the driver by continuously measuring the blink frequency. The webcam’s recorded video frames are processed to examine blinking and eye movements. An audio message alerts the driver if the blink frequency drops below a predetermined level, suggesting possible tiredness. With timely alerts that prompt taking the required safety steps, this proactive system seeks to improve road safety or relaxation to lessen the dangers of sleepy driving and avoid any mishaps. Our strategy provides a holistic response to the problems caused by driver weariness on the roads by combining computer vision techniques with real-time monitoring.
