Strain Analysis in Ni-Fe-W Alloy Using Digital Image Correlation
摘要
The paper uses two-dimensional Digital Image Correlation (DIC), an image processing technique, to quantitatively assess the displacements and strains, and thus the deformation in a sample of Ni-Fe-W alloy. Images of the alloy without deformation and subsequently at increasing stages of deformation were captured. DIC tracks data points, known as subsets, in the region of interest (ROI) from undeformed images in the deformed images to measure deformation metrics. Implementation of the DIC methodology was performed using Ncorr, a MATLAB-based software. Displacement and strain values were captured in the ROI, and statistical analysis was performed on them, including the computation of Pearson correlation coefficients for strain values. The correlation was found to be weakening with an increase in deformation.
