This article introduces the concept of component replacement in nuclear power plants as well as the problems faced by replacement, and analyzes the component replacement management and the relevant risk management through aspects including component replacement analysis, alternative product selection, disassembly and installation, testing and verification, functional identification, and replacement completion. In reference to typical cases of degradation, failure, and malfunction of emergency diesel generator sets relays imported from abroad, this paper summarizes the common problems of imported relays and the reasons and necessity of component replacement. In addition, quality control measures for relay replacement have been proposed based on analysis of renovation risks, reliability, economy, post maintenance, and spare parts supply. This article proposes preventive management after replacing domestic relays, intending to provide technical support for the reliability of emergency diesel generator sets in nuclear power plants, and to improve the replacement level and application scale of domestically produced electrical equipment.
