Intercropping has proved to be a high-yield, efficient, and sustainable agricultural practice, especially maize-soybean strip intercropping, through the ground underground synergy and root spatial distribution difference, the use of soybean nitrogen fixation potential, to reduce chemical nitrogen input, at the same time, and to ensure the nutrient supply needed for crop production.
