Potential of Nano-Biotechnology in Remediation of Emerging Toxicants from Wastewater
摘要
Wastewater treatment greatly benefits from the removal of dangerous metals from water by nanomaterials. The discipline of nanotechnology has made remarkable strides in the last few decades, which have inspired scientists to investigate uncharted territory. The exclusive properties of nano-structured materials may provide for a more sustainable solution to current wastewater treatment problems. Because of their unique features, which include higher aspect ratios, variable pore volumes, electrostatic properties, reactivity, and hydrophobic and hydrophilic reactions, nanomaterials offer various special qualities. Techniques for treating wastewater that are based on nanotechnology pose serious obstacles to existing methods. While time-consuming and expensive, the existing technologies for removing pollutants from wastewaters are fairly effective. Nanotechnology not only solves many environmental problems, but also reduces the workforce, time, and capital needs of the wastewater treatment industry. The benefits and importance of nanotechnology include the following: it is essential for the creation of new materials, it can store and generate energy in a variety of ways, such as solar power devices, it contributes to phytotoxicity, it can reduce environmental pollution by producing low-cost, environmentally friendly nanomaterials through green synthesis, elevated surface area, increased adsorption capability, chemical stability, light activation ease, and degradation of pollutants from wastewater yield superior outcomes to enhance antimicrobial activity.
