Generally speaking, there is no doubt about the undeniable importance and significance of judicial decisions in legal practice and judicial reform. The final judgments can be a window for outsiders to discover and evaluate the performance of civil proceedings in China and even the rule of law in civil matters. Although this contribution aims primarily at the existing problems and difficulties in Chinese academic and practical context, the comparative experience has with no doubt been relied on or referred to by this contribution in countless places. Besides introducing the historical and current development of making civil judgments in China, the purpose of this contribution is to enhance the possibility of comparing the Chinese approach with foreign counterparts all over the world. Moreover, this contribution tries to cover several jurisdictions to enhance the possibility of extracting comparative lessons that China could learn from, while Germany is taken as the primary counterpart to be elaborated. After a concise introduction, this contribution contains ten sequent chapters which intend to provide a comprehensive analysis.
