The multi-motor drive is gaining attraction in recent days as it has several advantages like reduced power electronic switches, size of the inverter drive, cost, etc. The T-type three-level (3L) inverter has only six switches in each leg, whereas the neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter has two diodes additional to six switches. Thus, the T-type 3L inverter has lower conduction losses, Similarly, the multiphase motor gets the preference in the research for its better DC-link utilization, fault tolerant capability, reduced losses, and common mode voltages. The five-phase T-type dual load 3L inverter is proposed in this paper which is capable of operating two five-phase PMSM individually with single inverter. The level-shifted phase opposition (PO) pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is used in this paper to operate proposed inverter. The 3L output is obtained in both motors terminals and it is controlled individually. The two motors are operated in common frequency (CF) mode and different frequency (DF) mode to analyze its performance. The simulation of proposed dual load T-type inverter is performed in MATLAB/Simulink, and the results are presented in this paper for validating the performances of inverter drive. The results of the proposed inverter indicate that the performance is better when CF mode is applied, while the performance is dropped a little during DF mode.
