The digital age has transformed talent acquisition, with many organizations embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline and enhance their recruitment processes. This research study investigates the impact of AI on talent acquisition by comparing companies that utilize AI and those that do not, thereby understanding the reasons for adoption and also examining the inhibitions behind AI adoption. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews with 20 HR professionals actively involved in recruitment. Purposive sampling ensured participants had relevant experience. This methodology provided a comprehensive look at how AI is being used in talent acquisition practices and the factors influencing its adoption within different organizations and what are the reasons for the under-utilization of AI across various businesses. The results show that the businesses that have adopted AI for talent acquisition have gained benefits from the same, and the ones that haven’t incorporated AI into their HR function are because of various reasons, including cost, potential bias, data breach threat, etc. Quality of hire, efficiency, time, etc. were the factors that turned out to be good for organizations that use AI.
