Different from the channel modeling in traditional optical wavebands, the modeling of ultraviolet (UV) communication channel has to take into consideration of multiple scattering effectsScattering effect of UV signalsUltraviolet signals when traveling in the atmosphere, which brings great challenges to the modeling of UV communication channels. In this chapter, we classify the channel models of UV communication into two types, i.e., analytical channel models and stochastic channel models. This classification is based on the fact that the computational efficiency of analytical channel models is much more higher than that of stochastic channel models. We first introduce these two types of channel models in Sects. 2.1 and 2.2, respectively. Then we present some numerical results on typical channel models in Sect. 2.3. At last, we summarize this chapter and present some future directions on channel modeling of UV communications in Sect. 2.4.
