With the explosion of video content on the internet, the need for effective video summarizing techniques has never been greater. Traditional video summary technologies frequently produce generic summaries that do not address individual user inquiries or preferences. This work provides a thorough evaluation and analysis of query-dependent video summarizing approaches, with the goal of bridging the gap between generic summary and user-specific requirements. The article covers query-dependent video summarizing applications in a variety of fields, including education, entertainment, surveillance, and journalism. It emphasizes the importance of user-centric design in building systems that are tailored to individual users’ requirements and preferences. This study discusses cutting-edge video summarizing approaches, as well as its drawbacks and constraints. The research investigates summarization strategies holistically based on the different properties of developing video data types such as the number of views, dimensions, modality, and content. A classification framework of this type allows us to critically analyze recent developments, future directions, constraints, datasets, areas of application, and so on in a more understandable manner.

摘要
