Performance Analysis of Crossbar in NOC Through Booksim Simulator
摘要
The amalgamation of typical systems having networks in one device or chip is called NOC. Network on Chip (NOC) is an emerging communication framework for multi-core processor architectures and FPGAs. It consists of various nodes and interconnected wires. The traffic is moved among the nodes. A node is also termed as router which consists of arbiter, crossbar, FIFO and virtual channel in an NOC network. Crossbar is one of the important components in router which is utilized for fast switching. Therefore, in this paper, a 10 * 10 crossbar for ‘fly’ topology has been analyzed through Booksim simulator. This Booksim simulator is virtual-channel-based NOC router simulator. Various performance parameters like injection rate, latency, throughput, total run time, and flit latency average are analyzed. At the Injection rate of (0.75), Throughput of (0.004), Total run time of (40.41) and Flit latency average of (12.60) are obtained.
