Privacy protection has been one of the main issues in data mining for the past few years due to the swift advancement of the technology used in data processing, storage, and the Internet. Finding relevant patterns and insights in massive datasets is made possible in great part by data mining. However, it also faces various challenges and limitations that can hinder its effectiveness and accuracy. This chapter aims to explore the challenges and limitations of data mining and provide insights into potential solutions. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to identify the existing research and approaches in this domain. The problem statement is defined, and research inquiries are developed to guide the investigation. The methodology involves analyzing relevant studies, identifying common challenges, and proposing possible strategies to overcome them. The results of this study participate to a better comprehension of the challenges and limitations in data mining and provide valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in the field. It also covers a number of upcoming difficulties and concerns in data mining, which are crucial to doing more study in this developing area.
