The occurrence of Raman Stokes line in fibers is subjected to a comparatively high threshold power level and a longer fiber length to trigger the nonlinear interactions. Here, we experimentally demonstrate the Raman scattering process triggered by a low input average power of ~3 mW in a very short length of the cascaded fiber system comprising a graded-index multimode fiber followed by a standard single-mode fiber at 1064 nm. An in-depth study has been performed to analyze the parametric dependency of the occurrence of the Raman peaks in the cascaded fiber system which eventually exhibits better characteristics compared to that obtained from a single multimode as well as single-mode fiber.

摘要
