Given the rise in global earthquake frequency and intensity, the need for research on base isolation systems is more significant than ever. Reviewing theoretical and practical studies, this paper analyzes the development and importance of base isolation systems along various structural categories. It lists difficulties and constraints and synthesizes results from numerous research studies to examine how well alternative base separation strategies work. Strengthening resilience to earthquakes and laying the foundation for better base isolation systems to address seismic concerns successfully are two goals of the review that connect theory and practice.
