Cold Flow Hydrodynamics of a Pilot-Scale Dual Fluidized Bed Gasifier
摘要
In the present study, preprocessing hydrodynamic parameters such as minimum fluidization velocity (Umf), fluidization number (U*), solid circulation rate (Gs), and pressure distribution have been investigated across the dual fluidized bed (DFB) gasifier. It comprises a bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) and riser (operates in a fast fluidized regime). In BFB, the control parameter airflow rate has been varied from 28 to 84 m3/h to determine the parameters mentioned above. With a change in BFB airflow rate, Gs increase from 7 to 23 kg/m2 s, whereas in the riser, Gs rise from 6 to 24 kg/m2 s with a change in airflow rate from 90 to 130 m3/h. Rigorous solid mixing and an increase in the Gs have been noticed for increased both BFB and riser fluidization number (U*). The fluidization number (U*) is the ratio of superficial gas velocity (U) and minimum fluidization velocity (Umf). Pressure distribution profiles ensure solid movement across the bed, and noticeable change has been observed with changes in different fluidization numbers of BFB. The above-mentioned parameters are estimated to achieve higher conversions of feedstocks during gasification in further study.
