In 2017, the video site Bilibili (hereinafter referred to as Bilibili), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, People’s Literature Publishing House, and Zhonghua Book Company established a tradition of jointly releasing “annual bullet comment” at the end of the year. This has become the most anticipated “Annual Review of internet Culture.” In 2022, Bilibili’s annual bullet comment was “elegant/elegance.” In the internet context, “elegant/elegance” no longer solely pertains to beauty and harmony, but rather a dynamic notion describing a calm problem-solving attitude in a stressful, complex environment.
